PUNE: More than 4,000 old cooperative housing societies are in the queue for redevelopment. However, they don’t get enough support from the State government, so Pune Zilla Sahakari Gruhanirman Mahasangh decided to conduct a statewide seminar on the issue on August 31 in the city.
Suhas Patwardhan, President of Pune Zilla Sahakari Gruhanirman Mahasangh announced this on Tuesday.
The seminar will be conducted at Manohar Mangal Karyalaya at Erandwane from 5 pm to 7.30 pm.
Maharashtra State Cooperative Parishad Chairman Shekhar Charegaonkar, MP Anil Shirole, Architect Vishwas Kulkarni and lawyers will participate in the seminar.
Patwardhan said, “There are 16,000 co-operative societies in Pune district. In the city, there are more than 4,000 co-operative societies more than 25 years old. They need to redevelop but due to problems, it is not happening. So we have organised a seminar to provide all details to societies about redevelopment from financial source, planning and legal assistance.”
