Second case under MPPSBA lodged

Speaking to Sakal Times, the complainant, Rambhau Lokhande, said that he has been removed from his community since 2014. 

PUNE: In yet another case of social boycott from a community, a 70-year-old man has lodged a complaint against six members of the Vaidu community, under the Maharashtra Prohibition of People from Social Boycott (Prevention Prohibition and Redressal) Act (MPPSBA) at Sangvi police station on Tuesday. 

A similar case was lodged by 11 persons, who were ostracised from Madewar Telgu Parit Samaj (MTPS), at Kondhwa police station on Monday.

Speaking to Sakal Times, the complainant, Rambhau Lokhande, said that he has been removed from his community since 2014. 

Based on his complaint, police have booked Raju Lokhande, Prakash Lokhande and four others. In his complaint, Rambhau told the police that the accused also took money from him, as he had violated the norms of the community. 

Similarly, he was abused by the accused, who had threatened that they will not allow him to any of the community religious functions. 

Assistant Police Inspector A Sarag of Sangvi police station is further investigating the case.
