Sany India joins NGO for cleaning canal

Pune: Sany India, manufacturer of construction, heavy machinery and renewable equipment, joined hands with an NGO, Environmental Forum Of India (EFI) for a canal cleaning project in Baramati.

This project will provide relief to all the residents and farmers in Baramati.

As a part of its contribution, Sany India provided SY210 C-9 Long Reach excavator by which truckloads of waste and silt was removed from the canal and the bed was dredged to increase its water holding capacity. The two-km  canal, which was built for irrigation and drinking water, was not cleaned for 3 years. This initiative was spearheaded by Environmental Forum Of India, which is tirelessly working towards natural conservation.

Dheeraj Panda, VP and Head, Excavator Business Unit, Sany India said, “We  are aiming to conserve and clean the canal in its original form as a free flowing, clean water source. This project is aiming to clean the canal that supplies drinking water, which hasn’t been cleaned for 3 years now.”

Sachin Satav NGO spokesperson said, “Sany machines are fuel efficient and versatile. Their sturdiness makes them suitable for Jalyukt Shivar programme. We have used these machines for over 3,000 hours where their output has been good.”
