Pune: Sakal Travel Mart that was organised in Karve Nagar over the weekend concluded on Sunday with a huge response from Puneites who visited the exhibition in large numbers. While many just grabbed the brochures and booklets providing information on several tours to plan their next vacation, some booked their tours with the travel agents.
The State Tourism Partner Gujarat Tourism, Cox and Kings, Kesari Tours, Make My Trip, Quest Tour, Thomas Cook, SOTC, Cosmos Tours India, Club Mahindra, TM Holidays, Choudhari Yatra Company, Flight Shop, Captain Nilesh Holidays, Sun Tourism, Vihar Travels, Vasankamal, Vayudut Holidays, Wonton Tours, Raghukul Holidays, Infinite Journeys, Ashok Travel World, Trekdi Adventures and Go Wild were the participants at this tourism fair.
Speaking about the fair, Agasti Shinde, one of the visitors said, “It is a great initiative by Sakal, especially as it has been organised right at the time when everybody has started planning summer vacation trips. All these travel agencies have some great tours here and although they don’t have the specific destination that I am looking for, two of them have offered to plan a customised tour for me, and I would soon be meeting them at their offices.”
Neeta Gate, who was visiting the fair with two of her friends said convenience was the best factor that made this fair a hit. “It is rather difficult to go to the offices of different travel agents to find the trip that we are looking for. By bringing all of them under one roof, Sakal has helped us compare their features at a go. We have already shortlisted the tours that fascinated us, and will soon be booking for the trip,” Gate said.
Aruna Pathak, an aspiring entrepreneur who wishes to start her own travel agency also visited the fair to examine and analyse their tours and offers.
