Pune: Sakal India Foundation, Pune has invited applications for free loan scholarship for academic year 2018-19 from students all over India. Celebrating the 58th year of its existence, the foundation has decided to give away 55 scholarships of Rs 60,000 each.
The free loan scholarships are repayable in up to two years, for Indian students proposing to pursue post-graduate studies abroad or research studies leading to PhD in India.
The applicant must have secured confirmed admission for PG degree in any foreign university for academic study of not less than one year's duration for academic year 2018-19 or the applicant must have a valid registration for doing research leading to Ph.D in a statutory university/national institution of equivalent standing in India, two years previous to the date of application for interest free loan scholarship.
In addition, a scholarship of Rs10,000 (non-refundable) will be awarded to a deserving student prosecuting PG studies or research leading to PhD in journalism in India/abroad with the above mentioned criteria.
Interested candidates can collect prescribed applications from Sakal office between 10.30 am to 12.30 pm except for Sundays and government holidays.
The applicants have to submit a photocopy of formal admit letter or registration letter of confirmed admission from the concerned university/institute for the prescribed application form and send a self-addressed envelope measuring (11 cm x24 cm) with Rs 10 postage stamp before May 31, 2018.
