Sakal Dhol Tasha Mahotsav gets good response

Pune: The Sakal Dhol Tasha Mahotsav was conducted on Friday at Mahalaxmi Lawns at Karve Nagar.

The programme received a huge response from the audience. There were ten groups which performed with a variety of Dhol Tasha tunes. The ten groups include Sanai Dhol Sayam Vadya, Shambu Raje Pratishthan, Shri Datta Mandir Dhol Lazhim Pathak, Jainath Dhol Tasha Pathak, Doneaai Mitra Mandal, Shiv Tandav Paramparik Dhol Tasha Pathak, Eaitihasik Vadya Pathak, Shivyoddha Vadya Pathak, Aarambha Dhol Tasha Pathak and Sahyadri Dhol Pathak.

The final will be held on August 17. Groups showed variety in their performances. The only group slightly different from all other groups, as they performed Gavthi Dhol, was Donu Aai Mitra Mandal. Prashant Ghare, leader of the group said, “We performed Gavthi Dhol Tasha, where there were 40 members in the group, six members played Dhol Tasha and 16 members performed. The performance includes Ganpati, Shankar-Parvati-Ganpati, Tamasha, Farmer, Pandurang, Jai Malhar, Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj, Kargil war, Nandi Bail and Tukaram Maharaj. It is a traditional Dhol Tasha group.”

Abhishek Bharadwaj, Brand Managing Executive said, “Here we get to see various styles of performing Dhol Tasha. Even we get inspired by it. It is good to hear the cultural way
of music.”
