“There will be a three-level structure of the Swargate hub. The first level will be dedicated for pedestrians, the second for bus facility and the third for personal vehicles. The underpass and the flyover will be integrated with the current design,” said Dixit.

PUNE: Officials of the Mahametro have assured the residents of Pune that the Swargate multi-modal hub will be an iconic design and will stress on everyone’s safety.

Speaking to mediapersons, Mahametro Managing Director Brijesh Dixit said that pedestrian safety will take preference over everything else while designing the multi-modal hub. “There will be a three-level structure of the Swargate hub. The first level will be dedicated for pedestrians, the second for bus facility and the third for personal vehicles. The underpass and the flyover will be integrated with the current design,” said Dixit.

Officials of the Mahametro have recently shown the design to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other officials of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

Dixit said that they are in the process of explaining the design to the public representatives of Pune to take their feedback and suggestions. “Once the suggestions are in from these people, we will start the work. It will roughly take about another three months time to start the work. We are in talks with PMPML and MSRTC as we are aiming at de-congestion of Jedhe Chowk. We are grateful to the corporation body for allocating the land required at Swargate for making the hub,” added Dixit.

EXTENTION
Speaking about work for extending the metro project till Shivshrushti, Dixit said that Mahametro will be working along with stakeholders of Shivshrushti project as there will be a metro station attached to Shivshrushti project.
