Pune: To spread fire safety awareness across Pune, Safe Kids Foundation and Honeywell India have expanded the Safe Kids at Home programme to Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

According to a press note, Safe Kids at Home is a home safety programme that helps prevent and reduce burns and scalds among children under 14 years of age, in Pune. Backed by extensive market research, the programme uses cutting-edge, experiential, and fun educational tools to reach 4,25,000 children and 2,50,000 parents in Pune by 2018.

Cinthia Pinto, Program Director, Safe Kids Foundation, said, “After the successful implementation of Safe Kids at Home program in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area two years ago, we are pleased to expand the programme to PCMC.”

Kiran Gawade, Chief Fire Officer, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, said, “PCMC is a burgeoning industrial hub. To be able to support this growth sustainably, we need to prevent and reduce fire incidents caused by negligence or lack of awareness around fire prevention and mitigation. While our firefighters do a great job as first responders to save lives and assets, increased fire safety awareness will help improve both prevention, as well as response.”

Vikas Chadha, President, Honeywell India, said, “Honeywell brings decades of fire safety experience, our global connected home technologies, and local understanding to keep homes and families safe.”
