Pune: Ryan Hall, a former marathon runner who holds the half marathon record in the United States of America, will be in the city as the brand ambassador of the Pune Half Marathon on December 9, organised by Bajaj Allianz. Legendary running coach Jack Daniels has designed this half marathon for Pune.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune Police will also take part in this event. Guardian Minister Girish Bapat, on Thursday, said, “There are three races in which Puneites can participate, 6 km, 10 km and 21 km. This will encourage maximum runners from Pune to participate in the marathon. Every family member can participate in this marathon in the two segments.”
The event will feature the Army and Police musical bands. Ryan Hall, and his wife Sara, who is also a professional American middle distance runner, will be the face of this event. Bollywood personality Mandira Bedi will be in-charge of the mike to enthrall the participants.
Bapat said that Athletics Federation of India (AFI) and Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) have given their approval to the marathon.
Pune Police and Mayor Mukta Tilak announced special trophies for their respective employees who emerge as winners.

Start from Balewadi Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Sankul, Radha Chowk, Balewadi Phata, High Street and back to Krida Sankul.
For 10 km
Start from Balewadi Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Sankul, Radha Chowk, Balewadi Phata, Baner road, Veritas Chowk and back to Sankul.
For 21 km
Start from Balewadi Shiv Chhatrapati Krida Sankul, Radha Chowk, Balewadi Phata, Baner road, Veritas Chowk, Vidyapeeth Chowk, Aundh Bremen Chowk, Aundh Parihar Chowk, ITI, Baner Phata, Baner Road and back to Krida Sankul.
