Rural police nab four for robbing pvt company

Pune: Sleuths from Pune rural police have nabbed four robbers, who had assaulted security guards of a private company near Shikrapur and decamped with copper materials worth Rs 23.19 lakh. Police said that four more accused are yet to be arrested.

The incident took place on February 15 at the premises of Hamirani Metals Pvt Ltd in Bajrangwadi, near Shikrapur, about 40 km from here.

The incident took place on February 15 at the premises of Hamirani Metals Pvt Ltd in Bajrangwadi, near Shikrapur, about 40 km from here.

The arrested accused have been identified as Deepak Rambhau Pansare (34), Waman Popat Pansare (48), Satish Vishwanath Sable (35), all residents of Bahul village in Khed taluka of the district, and Pavan Sopan Wadekar (38) of Triveninagar, Talwade road.

According to police, the accused persons had threatened the guards with a pistol and choppers and decamped with 7,600 kg of copper materials. Acting on a tip-off, officials from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) have recovered 3,480 kg stolen materials worth Rs 13.92 lakh.

Shikrapur police station officials are further investigating the case.
