Rs 1.36 lakh stolen in two unrelated thefts in Kothrud

Pune: The Kothrud police have registered two cases against unknown persons for thefts worth Rs 1.36 lakh.

Shivane resident Nilesh Pavale lodged a complaint against unknown persons for breaking into his shop and stealing Rs 70,100. “The complainant runs a Purple Tours and Travels company office. He had locked the office and gone home when unknown persons broke the lock of the shop shutter and stole Rs 70,100 kept in a drawer,” police officials said. 

In another incident, 32-year-old Sagar Kanekar registered a complaint of theft of Rs 66,500. Officials said, “Unknown persons broke into the complainant’s house and fled with gold jewellery and silver utensils kept in the cupboard. The unknown persons also broke into the house of another resident, Vandana Godbole, from the same society, but no loss has been reported.”
