Rs 1 crore in scrapped currency notes seized in Pune

Pune: Sleuths from Deccan Gymkhana police station have seized Rs one crore in scrapped currency notes in the denominations of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500.

The police said that the notes were recovered from a 70-year-old woman who is into real estate business. The police are questioning her accomplice.

The Income Tax department has also been alerted about the recovery.
