Rotary Club installs water facility at Kasba Ganpati

Pune: For the first time ever, a mineral water facility has been installed at the Kasba Ganpati mandap by Rotary Club of Sinhagad, this Ganeshotsav.

The initiative has been taken to reduce the amount of litter caused by the plastic bottles thrown by thevisitors.

The facility was inaugurated by Rotary Club regional head Abhay Gadgil. Around

Rs 2 lakh has been spent for this plant that has a capacity of 300 litres per hour. The water will be available for free to devotees visiting the mandal.

“The plastic that cannot be recycled causes a huge harm to the environment. There is a need to avoid the use of plastic as much as possible. Hence, we have started this plant,” Gadgil said.

Shrikant Shete, President, Kasba Ganpati Mandal, Ashok Bhandari, President of Rotary Club of Sinhagad Road, Shrikant Patankar, Satish Khade, President of Rotary Water Committee, Nilesh Vakil, Abhijeet Pawar and Bhausaheb Pawar were present.
