Rlys, MSRTC on alert due to heavy rainfall

We have already alerted our drivers about the heavy rainfall. Our engineers who are deputed at ghat sections have also been told to keep track of any information from the weather department or police and to pass it on to drivers

Pune: The railway administration is on high alert due to heavy rainfall. Central Railway Chief PRO Sunil Udasi said that a precautionary alert has been given to railway drivers and engineers in the ghat sections.

“We have already alerted our drivers about the heavy rainfall. Our engineers who are deputed at ghat sections have also been told to keep track of any information from the weather department or police and to pass it on to drivers.”

On August 22, three passengers were injured when boulders came crashing down on the Mumbai-bound Hubli-LTT Express while it was crossing  Monkey Hill near Khandala Ghat in the wee hours.

On July 18, a minor landslide at Monkey Hill near Khandala resulted in derailment of the engine of the Mumbai-Hyderabad Express. This delayed over a dozen trains coming to Pune from Mumbai.
