Rly division collects Rs 1.71 crore from ticketless travellers

The Pune railway division collected Rs 1.71 crore as fine from the ticketless travellers. The division had conducted a major drive on Pune-Malvali, Pune-Baramati, Pune-Miraj and Miraj-Kolhapur section for two months (April and May).

Pune: The Pune railway division collected Rs 1.71 crore as fine from the ticketless travellers. The division had conducted a major drive on Pune-Malvali, Pune-Baramati, Pune-Miraj and Miraj-Kolhapur section for two months (April and May).

According to the Railways, “During the massive drive, Railways has collected Rs 3.27 crore by taking action against 62,528 passengers for travelling without ticket, travelling in sleeper coaches with a general ticket. The division has collected Rs 1.71 crore from 27,737 ticketless travellers in these sections.”

The action was carried out under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Milind Deouskar and Aditional Divisional Railway Manager Praful 
Chandra with the help of ticket inspectors and Railway Protection Force (RPF) under the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Krishnath Patil.
