Pimpri: The rebellion, which had surfaced in the ranks of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Pimpri-Chinchwad, has almost come to an end following Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge's meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday.

Office bearers belonging to Landge's faction, including Mayor Nitin Kalje, were threatening to resign in protest, as their group did not get the post of Standing Committee chairperson for the second consecutive year after BJP came to power in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Fadnavis reportedly convinced Landge to calm down for now and toe the party line. However, BJP MLA and BJP city unit chief Laxman Jagtap did not go to Mumbai for the second week of the State legislative assembly session, and preferred to stay back in the city until the election procedure for Standing Committee chairperson is complete, which is scheduled for March 7.
