Railways opens UTS Mobile app helpline

Pune: A drive for the promotion of UTS Mobile App was started across the Pune division of Central Railway to motivate and educate passengers. On Thursday, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Milind Deouskar inaugurated a helpline booth at the Pune Junction in the queue area at the booking office to educate passengers on usage of UTS Mobile App.

On-duty commercial staff explained to passengers the benefits and procedures to generate unreserved tickets through UTS Mobile App. Railway officials distributed pamphlets while banners have been displayed at various stations for promotion of the app. 

According to officials, the commercial staff has been deployed at the helpline booth to motivate and educate passengers.

“Facility of UTS Mobile app was activated on April 4 over the suburban section and in the non-suburban section on October 12. It is getting a positive response from passengers. Hence, the division has started the helpline desk at the Pune Station to reach out to maximum passengers. Passengers have been requested to avail the benefits of UTS Mobile App and save money and time,” said DRM Deouskar.

New Booking Office open
A new booking office to issue unreserved tickets for passengers has been started on Tadiwala Road side under the new Foot Over Bridge (FOB). This booking office has been opened in the narrow gauge coach No CR 948 (Vashishtha). The coach was renovated to use for the opening of the booking office. The new booking office, presently, has one window and one shift. The timing of the window is meant to cater to the rush period from 7 am to 10 am and 2 pm to 7 pm. Besides the new booking window, unreserved tickets are being issued from four locations at Pune station. For the convenience of passengers, 19 Automatic Ticket Vending machines and four Coin Operated Ticket Vending machines are also provided. It is the first initiative taken in Pune Division over Central Railway to use the old narrow gauge coach as the booking office.
