Railways change DEMU’s timing

The train number 71408 will depart at 5.40 am and reach Pune junction at 7.30 am. The change of time will provide relief to many railway passengers.

Pune: The Pune railway division has provided a big relief to hundreds of residents of Daund who travel to Pune every day for education, jobs and other work. 

The railways have changed the timing of morning DEMU from June 11, which will be operated on an experimental basis for three months.

According to railway officials, the timing of train number 71047/71408 has been changed. Train number 71407 DEMU will depart from Pune Junction at 3.15 am and it will arrive at Daund at 5.10 am. 

The train number 71408 will depart at 5.40 am and reach Pune junction at 7.30 am. The change of time will provide relief to many railway passengers.

Similarly, train number 51402 Manmad-Pune will leave Daund at 6 am instead of 5.40 am and will arrive in Pune at 8.30 am. Vikas Deshpande, Secretary of Pune-Daund Railway 

Pravasi Sangathana said, “The railway had discontinued the service since 2015. We were continuously approaching the railway administration in Pune and Mumbai as well. 

After three years of struggle, the railways have agreed to change the time of the train. It is good news for people in Daund who travel to Pune every day.”
