Rahul to conduct party meeting in city today

Congress President Rahul Gandhi will be meeting party leaders from the State for the Lok Sabha election 2019 in Pune. Gandhi is scheduled to conduct an open dialogue with students in Hadapsar area on Friday morning.

Pune: Congress President Rahul Gandhi will be meeting party leaders from the State for the Lok Sabha election 2019 in Pune. Gandhi is scheduled to conduct an open dialogue with students in Hadapsar area on Friday morning. Before the programme, Gandhi has called a meeting of Congress leaders at a hotel, early in the morning. 

Congress City Unit President Ramesh Bagwe said, “It is a party meeting. He will be taking review of Lok Sabha election 2019 of Maharashtra. All senior leaders will be present for the meeting.”

Gandhi is going to interact with students at Mahalaxmi Lawns in Hadapsar. It is a non-political programme and no Congress party leaders will be present. As part of the two-day Maharashtra tour, Congress leader Vishwajeet Kadam and Yuva Surajya Foundation have organised Gandhi’s interaction with students’ wing of Congress. Students from city-based colleges will take part in the interaction. More than 3,000 students have registered their names for this interaction.
 
Gandhi is visiting Pune city for the first time on a one-day visit. However, he is not scheduled to conduct any public rally. According to party officials, the Congress City Unit has demanded a road show and one rally for party candidate Mohan Joshi. However, it is not yet finalised.
