Pvt healthcare venture launches portal, offers free consultation

Pune: The latest health care venture of Policybazaar Group, docprime.com, was launched on Tuesday in Maharashtra to make health care available to all. Among the cities, where this online platform will be available, are Mumbai, Pune, Navi Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad as well as in Raigad and Thane districts.

docprime.com is a platform that offers free online consultation and allows patients to book appointments with over 20,000 doctors and 5,000 diagnostic labs at discounted rates across the country. The online platform focuses on preventive healthcare.

The online platform has a strong network of over 6,000 doctors and labs in the State spanning west-central India. The group also plans to make its services available to other parts of the State by the end of this year.

Ashish Gupta, CEO, docprime.com, said that lifestyle diseases and other illnesses are substantially increasing in India.

“Preventive health care is becoming a necessity rather than an option for citizens. Thus, to help curb out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, docprime.com’s expansion across Maharashtra with over 5,000 doctors and 1,000 diagnostics centres aims at providing better health care at affordable pricing to everyone,” said Gupta.

He added that at an investment of $15 million in the venture, it will be used towards encouraging people to look after their health proactively by regular monitoring and by taking preventive measures.
“For this, the company also plans to expand to 100 cities nationally, with 1,00,000 doctors and 20,000 labs in 2019,” added Gupta.

He added that a highlight feature of the company is its cashless transactions.

“This means that customers pay directly at the time of booking an appointment and no extra charge is levied after the doctor’s consultation. It also allows flexibility in rescheduling an appointment and providing 100 per cent refund in case of cancellation. The company is committed to providing best-in-class service to its customers. Hence, it offers a discount of up to 60 per cent on doctor and lab bookings and up to 80 per cent on health check packages. This is a first and a rare in the health care industry,” said Gupta.
