Agro-tourism is becoming most sought-after option for people, who want short trips

Pune: There is no doubting how much Punekars love to travel, and as the summer vacation is just a few days away, they are ready to pack
their bags.

There are a lot of options as per the travellers’ demands, starting from cheap places to short vacations or weekend trips, there are a list of places that a travel expert can offer you.

Nilesh Bhansali from Devam Tours and Travels said, “For international trips, this year, there is a huge demand for South Africa from people in Pune, as this is a suitable  time for visiting the place.

“As South Africa is a dream for adventure lovers and winter will be approaching in May, tourist gets to enjoy the jungle safari of seeing giraffes, lemur, zebra, etc, and the most popular whale watching.”
He further added, “People have also made bookings for entire Europe or single destinations like Austria, Spain, Netherlands.”

Bhansali also said that Kashmir has always been a hit during this season, but people also love the rainy weather in north-east places like Assam and Meghalaya. People also choose places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for its beautiful sightseeing.”

Vishwas Kelkar, Chairman of Travel Agents Association of Pune, said, “Agro-tourism is becoming the most sought-after option for people, who want short breaks and there are plenty options right from Alibaug to Goa. It is a totally different experience for the budget travellers.”

Deepak Harane, Regional Manager of Maharashtra Tourism Development Center, said, “It has been observed that this year there is more than 100 per cent occupancy at various beach destination and hill stations. Places like Mahabaleshwar,

Matheran, Malshej Ghats, Harihareshwar, Ganapatipule and Tarkarli are absolutely full “
