Pune: Saurabh Mangulkar, founder of EventBeep and Mitesh Rasal, founder of Rut3, both undergraduate students from Pune were awarded Entrepreneurs’ Organisation’s Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA).
The local rounds for the GSEA, organised by the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation and hosted by Badal Saboo, GSEA Chair, Pune was conducted at YASHADA, Baner.
Winner Saurabh Mangulkar, studying in junior college, founded Event Beep in January 2017. Event Beep is a college event ticketing platform through which college students can find, register and attend all the events of their interests.
The first runners-up, Mitesh Rasal, a student of engineering, founded RUT3 in July 2016, a company for designing and manufacturing the new generation suspension wheels. This innovation was created for making rides safer, eradicating problems such as chain slippage, reduced transmission efficiency, increasing overall efficiency and providing a great comfort at a cheaper cost than conventional systems with least
Eleven students competed from colleges across Maharashtra. In order to qualify for this global contest, an individual had to be an undergraduate student and the owner of a profit or social enterprise structured (revenue generating) business that has operated for at least six consecutive months.
“We received applications from all over Maharashtra and it has been inspiring to sit through the presentations of the contestants whose businesses look beyond just generating profits to bringing social impact within their communities,” said Saboo.
