Pune station gets a 100-feet tall flagpost for Republic Day this yr

Pune: Ministry of Railways had taken a decision to install 100-feet tall flagpoles at 75 A Grade railways stations across the country, one of which was installed at the Pune railway station near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue. 

Pune Division of Indian Railways organised a flag hoisting ceremony on the 70th Republic Day, and Member of Parliament, Pune, Anil Shirole hoisted the flag in the presence of citizens, students and staff from the Railways.
 
Officials Milind Deuskar, Prafulla Chandra, D Vikas and Krushnat Patil were also present on the 
occasion. 

Speaking on the occasion, Shirole said, “The country is progressing very fast and we all need to contribute towards making India a clean, corruption and terror-free place.”

Deuskar, Pune Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), informed that the installation work of this 100-feet-tall flagpole was completed within a month after getting the instructions from the Railways. This Indian national flag will act as a source of inspiration for all the citizens and travellers that come to Pune station.
