The association had called for a strike from August 11 and asked all loudspeaker providers in the city to join it.

Pune: Pune Sound and Electricals Generators Association (PSEGA) called off their strike, which lasted a day, PSEGA Secretary Mrunal Vavale said on Saturday.

“We have sought the reason to decrease the sound decibel limit to 65 db with Addl CP Ravindra Sengaonkar, as the Supreme Court law restricts it to 75-80 db. We told him that there is a requirement to raise the limit to at least 75 db. There are so many noise distortions due to urbanisation that a limit of 60-65 db will not be audible,” said Vavale.

The association had called for a strike from August 11 and asked all loudspeaker providers in the city to join it.
