Pune sizzles at 36.2 degree Celsius

Pune: On Thursday, Maharashtra experienced high temperature across various cities. Pune recorded maximum temperature at 36.2 and the minimum temperature of 17.9 degrees Celsius. 

The maximum temperature in the State was recorded at Bhira at 39 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature was at 17.2 degrees Celsius at Mahabaleshwar. 

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Vidarbha may experience thunderstorm along with rainfall on March 10 and March 11. 

IMD has forecast that the temperature in the city may touch 35 degrees during daytime and the temperature during night time may touch 15 degrees Celsius. The sky will remain clear, said IMD. 

The highest maximum temperature recorded over the plains on Thursday was 39.4 degrees Celsius at Mahua in Saurashtra and Kutch. The lowest minimum temperature recorded across the country was 9.4 degrees Celsius at Karnal in Haryana on Thursday.

IMD has predicted that on March 12, thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds are likely at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

IMD has also forecast that for March 13 and March 14, isolated to scattered rain or snow is likely over the western Himalayan region. Isolated to scattered precipitation likely over the northeast and south peninsular India. Also, the weather is likely to be dry over remaining parts of the country.
