Pune records lowest min temp in State

PUNE: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the month of February will be on a hotter note. The lowest minimum temperature reported in the State on Sunday was at 15.1 degree Celsius in Pune. The weather in the State is expected to remain dry till the first week of March, predicted IMD.

On Sunday, Pune reported day temperature at 36.3 degree Celsius. IMD has also forecast that for Pune city, the day temperature, as well as night temperature, will rise gradually in the coming days. And the sky will remain clear till March 2.

NATIONAL SCENARIO
The lowest minimum temperature recorded in the plains was six degree Celsius in Amritsar.

Rainfall activity is very likely to get enhanced over east and northeast India from Sunday onwards, in association with likely development of conducive conditions for moisture incursion and wind confluence in the lower levels and divergence in the upper levels.

IMD noted that scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated thunder squalls and lightning are very likely over Jharkhand, West Bengal, north Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till February.

Strong surface wind speeds reaching 30 to 40 kilometre per hour (kmph) gusting to 50 kmph are likely over plains of northwest India, mainly over Punjab, Haryana and West Rajasthan are predicted till February 26.
