Pune Railway Division collects `14.7 cr from ticketless travellers

The Pune railway division conducted  massive ticket checking in Pune-Malavali, Pune-Baramati, Pune-Miraj, and Pune-Kolhapur section from April 2017 to March 2018.

Pune: The Pune railway division conducted  massive ticket checking in Pune-Malavali, Pune-Baramati, Pune-Miraj, and Pune-Kolhapur section from April 2017 to March 2018.

The division collected Rs 14.76 crore from 2.87 lakh ticketless travellers in sleeper and air-conditioned coach. Manoj Jhawar, Public Relations Officer, Pune Railway Division, said, “During the ticket checking, the officials found many passengers travelling without proper ticket or ticketless. During the process, the Railway collected Rs 14,76,70,000 from 2,87,753 passengers.”

The action was carried out under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Milind Deouskar and Aditional Divisional Railway Manager Praful Chandra with the help of ticket insspectors and Railway Protection Force (RPF) under the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Krishnath Patil.
