Pune: Officials of the MahaMetro are all set to inaugurate the much-awaited Pune Metro Mahiti Kendra (Information Centre) on Independence Day at its proposed location at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Park near Balgandharva Rangmandir.
MahaMetro officials said the aim of the centre is to inform citizens about its prestigious project in detail and solve their queries.
The Information Centre will be functional from 7 am to 11 pm. It will be a replica of the Metro train as a metro passenger coach with matching interiors will function as the Information Centre. This has been done to ensure that citizens get a feel of the Metro train. A dedicated team would guide citizens and give them information about the metro project.
Citizens can walk in and get their queries addressed at this Centre including latest developments, project updates, salient features, stations, routes and benefits of the Metro project.
The interiors are an exact lookalike of the metro coach with stainless steel, glass and other materials.
Three electronic display systems will be put up so that citizens can browse and get all the relevant details they seek through PPTs and informative films. The coach graphics have been designed to reflect the flavor of Pune, highlighting its monuments and structures.
An informative gallery is planned on the premises which will help citizens understand other features of the project as well. Officials said Puneites are invited to visit the centre to get firsthand information of the project.
