Pune: The rescheduling of Air India (AI) flight from Pune to Chandigarh has taken many fliers by surprise.

The flight was re-scheduled due to runway maintenance at Chandigarh airport. Many passengers claim that the flight has been cancelled and tickets are not getting booked, but Air India officials clarified that no cancellation notice has been issued by Air India.

Suhas Jadhav, Station Manager of Air India, Pune, clarified that the flight has only been re-scheduled.

“Flight number AI 813 would earlier depart from Pune at 2 pm and arrive in Chandigarh at 4.30 pm, and would depart from Chandigarh at 10.50 am and arrive in Pune at 1.20 pm. Due to runway maintenance, the flight has only been rescheduled. There is no change of flight number, the only change is in timing.”

“The flight will depart from Pune at 12.20 pm and arrive in Chandigarh at 2.50 pm and flight number AI 814 will depart from Chandigarh at 9.15 am and arrive in Pune at 11.40 am,” Jadhav said.

He said the change in timing is good for tourists who travel from Chandigarh to popular destinations like Kulu, Shimla and Manali in the north, and Lonavla and Shirdi near Pune.

Jadhav said, “The earlier departure is actually a boon to tourists travelling to Shimla and Manali. Immediately after reaching Chandigarh, they can reach their destinations in the evening on the same day itself.”
