PSI caught taking bribe of Rs 10,000

According to ACB, the complainant is a tailor. After an anonymous complaint was made against him to senior GRP officials, it was sent to Barbole to give his report. However, he allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 bribe. He asked the complainant to deposit the bribe money in the bank account of Head Constable Kazi.

Pune: A reserve police sub-inspector of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Pune, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 bribe in the bank account. 

The accused PSI Dnyandev Sopan Barbole (52) is posted with the GRP Headquarters in Khadki. On his instruction, the bribe money was deposited by the complainant in the bank account of Head Constable Kazi.

As he didn’t want to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB. After the bribe demand was verified and bribe money deposited in the account, the cops nabbed the accused policemen. 

An FIR has been registered against the accused persons with Khadki police station for offences under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
