PSCDCL to hold hackathon, announce cyber security policy
The hackathon will focus on identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities across IOT, application and network layers in the smart city solutions.
PUNE: To promote cyber security and data privacy, Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) in collaboration with Data Security Council of India (DSCI) has decided to conduct a Cyber Security Hackathon and announce a cyber security policy for the Pune Smart City.
The PSCDCL will conduct the Cyber Security Hackathon soon. The hackathon will focus on identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities across IOT (Internet of Things), application and network layers in the smart city solutions. The hackathon aims to sensitise participants on cyber security and data privacy objectives of the city to make it safe and secure for residents.
The Cyber Security Policy and Framework developed in partnership with DSCI will guide its departments to ensure that cyber security and data privacy is maintained across all elements of people, processes and technology.
PSCDCL CEO Rajendra Jagtap said, “Our partnership with DSCI, focusing on cyber security in a Smart City, started several months ago. We have been an early starter among the other Smart Cities in this area and look forward to partnering DSCI on this hackathon on cyber security.”
PSCDCL Chief Knowledge Officer Manojit Bose said “Cyber security is a critical component of a Smart City architecture. We look forward to our partnership with DSCI to imbibe some of the best practices in this domain including partnering them in this first of its kind hackathon at a city level.”
