Pune: Thousands of students under the leadership of MLA Bacchu Kadu have organised a protest march in the city on Thursday demanding the closure of Mahapariksha portal and handing over the management of all the competitive and government examinations to the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The demands have been made due to the alleged corrupt practices in the Mahapariksha portal.

The march will start near Shaniwarwada at 10 am and end at the collector office. Yuvraj Patil, City President, Prahar Vidyarthi Sanghatana, said, “The Mahapariskha portal is infamous for several malpractices like mass copying, repetition of questions, dummy cases, etc. Many times, the questions asked have been very vague and different from the given curriculum and the attendance management of those answering the examinations through the biometric system is also not followed properly. Due to these practices, the students who are honestly preparing for the examinations are affected.”

The organisation demands that the examinations which will now be conducted for new government recruitments that have been announced should not be handled through the portal. Instead, the transparent organisation like MPSC should take charge of these examinations.
