Power supply hit in some areas

As a result, power supply in Rasta Peth, Kasba Peth and other Peth areas, including Lullanagar, Kondhwa, Gultekadi, Sinhagad Road, Camp, Market Yard, Swargate among others was disrupted from around 2.30 pm on Thursday, which affected around 2.5 lakh consumers. MSEDCL arranged alternative electricity supply to these areas

Pune: The power supply to six sub-stations of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) was suspended for over five hours due to the damage to an underground power cable.

As a result, power supply in Rasta Peth, Kasba Peth and other Peth areas, including Lullanagar, Kondhwa, Gultekadi, Sinhagad Road, Camp, Market Yard, Swargate among others was disrupted from around 2.30 pm on Thursday, which affected around 2.5 lakh consumers. MSEDCL arranged alternative electricity supply to these areas.

The damaged cable was being repaired till late in the evening on Friday. MSEDCL officials said that power supply would be normalised by Saturday evening.  The officials claimed that the damage happened while cleaning work was being undertaken of a sewage line in the area.
