Anant Takwale, Regional Passport Officer said, “Earlier POPSKs of Satara, Sangli, Nanded, Beed and Pandharpur were functioning in camp mode, wherein the application forms were collected after capturing biometric details. Then, the files were sent to PSK Mundhwa for scanning of documents and further processing of applications. This used to result in some delay for such files collected in camp mode.”

Pune: The passport applicants from Satara, Sangli, Nanded, Beed and Pandharpur can now get their passports earlier than before as full-fledged Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) have started functioning at these locations. Earlier, Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSK) were functioning as camps where application forms were collected.

With the launch of five additional PSKs in Pune region, the passport issuance process has become faster as the documents are being scanned at the same location and application processing is completed on the same day.

“These locations are working in the same way as Passport Seva Kendra in Pune,” Takwale said.

The RPO requested that applicants from above locations shall book their appointments for these PSKs rather than having to travel.
