Police raids houses of lawyers and activists in connection with Elgar Parishad case

A team of Pune Police has raided the house of lawyer Susan Abraham and Arun Ferreira who were representing the case of five who were  arrested previously by Pune police in the month of June in Elgar Parishad case.

PUNE: Pune police has raided the residences of eights  more persons including lawyers and activists  in connection with Elgar Parishad case on Tuesday morning in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Ranchi.

A team of Pune Police has raided the house of lawyer Susan Abraham and Arun Ferreira who were representing the case of five who were  arrested previously by Pune police in the month of June in Elgar Parishad case.

Police also raided the house of Father Stan Swamy in Ranchi.

The raid was carried around  6am  in the morning at the house of Swamy. During  the Search operations they  confiscated several items like Computers, laptop, CDs, papers and books. He was also quizzed about some organisations in Maharasthtra.

Houses of Communist writer  Varavara Rao and Kranti were also raided and searched  in Hyderabad. Sources informed  that police has  also raided the house of Vara Vara Rao's daughter Anala and Journalist Kurmanath's house also raided.

Raids were also conducted at the house of activists Gautam Navlakha and Sudha Bhardwaj In Delhi. 

Police also has searched the house of Anand Teltumbade in Goa.Teltumbade is presently working in bis capacity as a professor at Goa Institute of Management.
