Pune: Officials of Hadapsar police nabbed three men and recovered seven stolen two-wheelers from their possession, besides a pistol and two magazines.

Pune: Officials of Hadapsar police nabbed three men and recovered seven stolen two-wheelers from their possession, besides a pistol and two magazines.

Acting on a tip-off received by constable Amit Kamble, cops arrested Omprakash Chanduram Sahu (20) of Mohammadwadi, Jiwa Arjun Ahir (48) of Thane and Somnath Shankar Khorde (24) of Pashan. DCP (Zone 4) Deepak Sakore said, "The accused used to keep a watch on bikes parked with ignition keys. They used to steal the key and then keep a watch on the owner, who would start the vehicle with a duplicate key. After following the owner, the accused would then steal the bike with the original key."

Police Inspector (Crime) Anjum Bagwan from Hadapsar police station said, "The accused earlier worked at a construction site in Pashan as daily wage labourers. They got the pistol from their native place. Further investigation is going on to find out if they have committed more crimes."

The investigation team included assistant police inspectors Sandip Narayan Deshmane and Prasad Lonare, head constables Yusuf Pathan, Sampat Auchare and Rajesh Navle, police naiks Pramod Tilekar, Ganesh Dalvi, Pratap Gaikwad, Saidoba Bhojrao, Vinod Shivle, constables Akbar Shaikh and Dawood Sayyed.
