Police identify killers of builder Deven Shah

Pune: The Pune police have identified the killers of builder Deven Shah and dispatched a team to arrest them. Shah who was shot at by two assailants in the parking lot of his residence at Prabhat Road on Saturday night and succumbed to his injuries on Sunday in a private hospital. 

According to the sources in the police department, the accused were identified as Ravi Chorge and Rahul Shivtare. 

“Shivtare has been booked for murder in the past whereas Chorge has charges against him for body offences at Faraskhana police station. These two accused used to deal with real estate matters and were known to Shah. However more things are going to get revealed once these two get arrested,” added the source.

Sameer Sheikh, Assistant Commissioner of Police ( Crime), said, “We have dispatched our teams and going to arrest them soon.” 

Deven Shah (56), Founder of Ambika Corp, was shot at by the accused duo outside his house on Prabhat Road on Saturday night. 

Shah, who used to reside at Sayali Apartments in lane number 7 of Prabhat Road, was shot at around 11:05 pm on Saturday night below his apartment by Chorge and Shivtare. They sent a person who runs a laundry shop there to call Shah downstairs. Initially, Shah’s son Atit came downstairs but the duo told him that they have come to meet his father and not him. Later, when Shah arrived downstairs, he was instantly shot at by the two assailants. Shah received two bullet injuries in the chest and ribs.
