Police counsel students against ‘Lal Batti’ game

Police officials said that students play a game called ‘Laal Batti (red light)’ in which they throw a coat on a student’s face and he is beaten up by other students

Pune: Following a complaint from a couple about their son, who studies in ninth standard and was assaulted by his ten fellow class mates, the officials of the Nigdi police station took counselling sessions for students of the school to which the victim belongs.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon in a school in Kudalwadi area.

Police officials said that students play a game called ‘Laal Batti (red light)’ in which they throw a coat on a student’s face and he is beaten up by other students.

Police Inspector (Crime) Shankar Awtade said that the students of the school were informed about the ‘Police kaka’ initiative for schools and were instructed not to indulge in such violent games.

City police officials are reaching out to school students under ‘Police Kaka’ initiative and are solving their problems.
