Police chief urges students to pitch in and make commuting safe

Students can play a major role in traffic management, stated K Venkatesham, Commissioner of Police during the inauguration of ‘Go Cycle Rally’ at KJ Educational Institute (KJEI).

Pune: Students can play a major role in traffic management, stated K Venkatesham, Commissioner of Police during the inauguration of ‘Go Cycle Rally’ at KJ Educational Institute (KJEI). He inaugurated ‘Go cycle rally’ which was organised to create awareness about environment. The rally was conducted from Khadi Machine chowk to KJ Campus at Bopdev Ghat. 300 cyclists participated in this rally.

While talking to students, Venktesham said, “Traffic is major issue for a society. College students can play role to solve this issue through various activities. I appeal to all colleges and students to join with police and help to make commuting safe for all.” 

He added, “College students should give some time for the society. National Service Scheme (NSS) wing can do constructive social work.” Kalyan Jadhav, President of KJEI, Vinod Jadhav, Treasurer of KJEI, Hemant Abhyankar and Vyasraj Kakhandaki, Executive Director, Suhas Khot, Coordinator of Cycle Rally and Principle of KJ College of Engineering and management research, Haribhau Fakatkar, Principal of Trinity College of Engineering and Technology, Nilesh Uke, Trinity Academy of Engineering, Deepak Mehetre, HoD of Computer Science, Prof. Aparna Hambarde and Kartik Mullya were present.
