Police book youth for uploading pics of girl

Pune: A youth has been booked for allegedly uploading obscene photos of a girl after she refused to marry him.

The accused, Shashank Chincholkar of Baner, also allegedly demanded Rs five lakh from them. The victim’s father, who is a police officer, lodged an FIR against the accused with Chatuhshrungi police station. 

According to the police, the incident took place in the last three months.

The accused and complainant’s daughter were friends. He insisted on marriage but she refused. Once he threatened her with a sharp weapon at her house. He demanded Rs five lakh and when the amount was not given, he circulated her photographs on porn websites and Facebook and defamed her. 

The police have charged the accused with offences under sections 354 (outraging modesty of a woman), 354D (stalking), 452 (house trespass), 385 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act.
