Police book three for duping man of Rs 21.5 L

PUNE: A 45-year-old man was duped of Rs 21.5 lakh by three persons including a woman on the pretext of financial investments gains in share market. A case in this regard was registered at Hadapsar police station.

The accused were identified as Sandeep Shukla, Mamta Shukla and Dashrath Shukla, all residents of Amanora township in Hadapsar. The three were accused of duping their acquaintance Jitendra Pathak, 45, also a resident of Amanora township of Rs 21.5 lakh over the period of one year.

Umakant Pune, Police Sub-Inspector, Hadapsar police station, said, “The accused as well as complainant both knew each other. The trio lured the complainant into their trap on the pretext of providing him financial profits by investing the latter’s money into share market. However, they didn’t provide him anything in return and defrauded him.

Pune informed that the accused persons own the company by the name of Rudra Financial Services and Research Company. They told the complainant that they have a business partnership with a company by the name of Oswal Assets Management and Oswal Security Ltd and made him invest his money in the company through shares and real estate. The accused persons promised to provide good returns on the amount invested by him but defrauded him.

Police have registered a case of cheating against the three accused who are still at large.
