Police arrest vehicle thief with stolen car

Pune: Sleuths of the Anti Dacoity Cell of Pune police have arrested a man who made away with a high-end car from Goa and came to Pune to sell it. The thief was arrested on Tuesday from New Poona Club Road. 

The arrested thief was identified as Vijay Dey, a resident of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Dey decamped with the Audi car from Calangute in Goa and came to Pune in order to sell it. After the car got stolen a case was registered against the accused at Calangute police station in Goa.

The arrested thief was identified as Vijay Dey, a resident of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Dey decamped with the Audi car from Calangute in Goa and came to Pune in order to sell it. After the car got stolen a case was registered against the accused at Calangute police station in Goa.

Dey was arrested by police after he was noticed by a patrolling team at the New Poona Road which comes under the jurisdiction of Bund Garden police station. His theft got exposed as Dey couldn’t produce the car papers demanded by police. On questioning further he revealed that he had stolen the car from Goa. 

According to the information provided by the Anti Dacoity Cell, Dey had rented the car from Calangute and planned to sell it in Pune or Mumbai. In order to execute his plan, he came to Pune but was caught.
