Pune: Officials of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) will soon start demolition of illegal structures under its jurisdiction. The PMRDA is in the process of conducting a survey of illegal structures.
Officials of PMRDA said that more than 1,400 establishments have been found to have illegal structures and PMRDA will soon start demolition of these structures. Recently, PMRDA increased its strength and have appointed an additional chief executive officer and another officer at the deputy collector rank to execute various projects, including the 128 km ring road and development of various town planning schemes.
PMRDA officials said that unauthorised constructions built in PMRDA areas till December 31, 2015, will be regularised as per a government resolution. Owners of such establishments will have to apply for regularisation of such structures to the licensed engineer, along with necessary documents by June. Illegal structures which has come up after December 31, 2015 will be demolished by PMRDA.
PMRDA is a Special Planning Authority
PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte on Friday said that PMRDA has been appointed ‘Special Planning Authority’ for development of various villages in Shirur, Daund, Pimplegaon, Mulshi, Maval and other areas.
