PMRDA holds workshop on illegal construction, PMAY

PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte said that KPMG has been asked to carry out a survey of Pune Metropolitan Region for the PMAY projects and prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of the 842 villages for constructing the houses.

PUNE: Officials of the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) on Wednesday conducted a workshop on illegal construction and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). 

The PMRDA officials explained to people about illegal constructions in PMRDA region and how people involved in illegal construction can regularise their construction work build before December 2015, by paying a fee to the PMRDA. 

Officials also informed them about rules in Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act. Speaking about the extension of affordable housing project of government in 842 villages, PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte said that KPMG has been asked to carry out a survey of Pune Metropolitan Region for the PMAY projects and prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of the 842 villages for constructing the houses.

“For those who have their own land and want to develop under the PMAY, the beneficiary can construct 30-sqm houses and will be alloted Rs 1.5 lakh from the Center and Rs 1 lakh from the State.” added Gitte.
