PMRDA calls for tenders from developers to build homes under PMAY

As per a press release issued by PMRDA, the government has set a target of building 2.19 lakh homes till 2022 and so they are looking for developers interested in building homes under this scheme. 

PUNE: The Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) has called for tenders from developers ready to build homes under Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme on Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. 

As per a press release issued by PMRDA, the government has set a target of building 2.19 lakh homes till 2022 and so they are looking for developers interested in building homes under this scheme. 

Speaking about the scheme, PMRDA Chief Kiran Gitte said,”Property prices of about 50 per cent flats in the scheme will be decided by PMRDA and the developers can decide the prices of rest fifty per cent. The developers will be benefitted by the scheme as there will be benefits on less stamp duty charges to the developers on flats under the scheme,” added Gitte.

About ten developers have till now shown interest in the proposal. The last date to apply is March 6. The press note stated that first time home buyers will be benefitted to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakh under the scheme.
