PMPML driver held after fatal mishap

Pune: A 15-year-old boy was rammed to death by a PMPML bus on Wednesday morning at Vishrant Wadi. Police have arrested the driver of the bus.

The deceased boy was identified as Raees Ansari, a resident of Munjaba Vasti in Dhanori. The accident took place around 8 am on Wednesday morning opposite the gate of Research and Development Establishment (R&DE) located at Vishrant Wadi.
The accused driver Yogesh Farande, 36, is a resident of Mahtoba Alandi, Solapur Road.

According to the information provided by Vishrant Wadi police, Ansari was riding pillion along with one of his friends

Krishnakant Lonare, 25, who lives in the same locality and was going to Alandi to attend a marriage. However, when they were passing in front of R&DE gate, a two-wheeler which was moving in front of them suddenly stopped because of which Lonare lost control over his bike and dashed into the two-wheeler ahead of them and fell on the road. Suddenly, the PMPML bus driven by Farande hit the latter which inflicted severe injuries.

Ansari was rushed to the Sassoon Hospital but succumbed to his injuries later. 

Police have registered a case under section 304 A (Causing death by negligence).
