Pune: In yet another surprise visit to a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML) depot to improve the efficiency of employees, PMPML CMD Nayana Gunde recently suspended a clerk pending an inquiry for remaining absent from work without intimating his seniors.

Underlining the CMD’s focus on providing better facilities to passengers, the public transport utility’s administration is paying due attention and taking action against those employees who are not working properly or remaining absent without intimating their seniors.

She visited the Bhekarainagar depot and found that some employees were not present and were not making entry in the attendance register regularly.

During her visit at the depot, Gunde found that the clerk and a conservancy worker had not signed in the register. She suspended the clerk pending an inquiry against him.

Gunde has started surprise visits of the utility’s depots in the city. Whenever she comes across PMPML employees reporting late to duty or remaining absent or not performing their responsibilities, she takes immediate action against them.
