PMPML bus driver, conductor assaulted

Pune: The driver and bus conductor of a PMPML bus were allegedly assaulted by a group of three men after the duo raised an objection on the violation of traffic rules committed by the trio. The incident took place near BRT bus stop at Katraj on Tuesday.

The accused were identified as Shankar Dhekne (26), Kapil Pardesi (27), both residents of Dhankawadi, and Rahul Misal (30), a resident of Katraj.

The trio was accused of manhandling Dayanand Mahadik and Ravindra Jagtap, both employees of PMT. Jagtap is employed as a driver whereas Mahdik works as a conductor with the bus service.

According to the information provided by Bharti Vidyapeeth police station, the PMPML employees were on their way to Bhosri from Katraj. While stopping at BRT bus stop in Katraj, they encountered Misal, Pardesi and Dhekne, who were coming from the wrong side of the road in an autorickshaw. Misal was driving the auto, whereas Pardesi and Dekhne were accompanying him. However, when questioned by Jagtap why they were coming from the wrong side, the trio got into an argument and assaulted both the PMPML employees.

All the three accused were arrested by the police after a complaint against them was filed at Bharti Vidyapeeth police by the victims.
