Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Sahyadri Hospitals will be organising a ‘Mega Health Camp’ on April 15 to mark the World Health Day on April 7. The camp would consist of free health screening organised at Sahyadri Super Specialty Hospital Deccan between 10 am and 5 pm.

The free screening at the camp would include random blood sugar, hemoglobin, blood pressure, ECG, body fat analysis, pulmonary function test, bone mineral density and eye checkup.

If advised, also free 2D echo or stress test, consultation with a physician as well as superspecialists like a cardiologist, paediatric cardiologist, cardiac surgeon and joint replacement surgeons would be done.

Speaking about the initiative, Mayor of Pune Mukta Tilak said, “We appeal to all citizens to be a part of this preventive healthcare initiative and secure your future with good health.” Assistant Medical Officer of Health, PMC, said people normally neglect health and don’t give due importance to preventive health check-up.

Dr Ketan Apte, Unit Head, Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital Deccan, said that this year, the focus of World Health Day is fulfilling the commitment of ‘universal healthcare for all.’ “Our effort is in sync with the theme and we expect maximum people to participate. Depending on the response, we may think of expanding the drive to our other centres in Pune as well,” said Apte.
