PMC plans to send technicians to CEPT

Pune: In order to improve the skills and knowledge of its engineers especially attached to the road department, engaged in various development projects and urban designers appointed on various panels, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will send these technicians for training of capacity building support organised by Ahmedabad-based Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT).

Pune: In order to improve the skills and knowledge of its engineers especially attached to the road department, engaged in various development projects and urban designers appointed on various panels, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will send these technicians for training of capacity building support organised by Ahmedabad-based Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT).

The civic body has engaged CEPT for offering training of capacity building and gain new expertise in the field of engineering for its engineers, urban designers and contractors who carry out the development projects planned by the PMC.

The Research and Development Foundation of the CEPT has chalked out a training programme for engineers for their capacity building and provide expertise knowledge on various aspects to improve the quality of engineering work.

As per the agreement signed between the PMC and CEPT, the former will send its engineers and urban planners for training and against that, the PMC will have to pay Rs 1.75 lakh to the latter. The current agreement will last till September 2018 and a provision of Rs 21 lakh has been made in the current fiscal.
